About
Toolyconvert Image Resize builds small, focused browser tools that do one job precisely — and get out of the way. No accounts, no uploads, no upsell screens.
01Why we build this way
Most online tools today are wrappers around a server-side job: you upload a file, wait in a queue, and download a result while the platform keeps a copy for 'processing'. That model is convenient, but it is a poor fit for the things people actually care about — speed, privacy and control.
Modern browsers can decode images, compose documents and encode files locally. So that is how our tools work: the processing happens on your device, which makes the tools fast on a slow connection, safe for confidential material, and honest about what they do.
02Design principles
- One job per tool. We would rather have three clear utilities than one overloaded dashboard.
- Exact controls over magic sliders. If a value can be entered as a number, it should be.
- No dark patterns. No fake countdowns, no forced sign-ups, no 'premium' watermark on your own file.
- Performance is a feature. Pages are server-rendered, animation libraries are loaded only where they are used, and nothing blocks the task.
- Accessible by default. Keyboard operation, visible focus states, readable contrast and reduced-motion support are not optional extras.
03How the tools are made
Each tool starts as a real workflow problem — resizing a batch of product photos, splitting a scanned contract, merging statements into a single PDF. We prototype with the actual file types people use, measure the output, and only ship once the result holds up against dedicated desktop software.
The interface follows the same editorial design system across every tool so that learning one means knowing them all.
04Independence and funding
The tools are free to use and are funded by optional, clearly labelled support rather than advertising or data brokering. We do not sell user data, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
05Get in touch
Bug reports, feature ideas and disagreement are all welcome — write to hello@toolyconvert.com. Messages from people who use the tools daily shape the roadmap more than anything else.
If anything in this document is unclear, please contact us. We would rather explain it properly than hide behind legal wording.
